Frequently Asked Questions for Massage Therapy, Skincare, Waxing and our Office policies.
At the beginning of session you will need to fill out a health form prior to your first appointment. Your therapist may then ask some general health questions to modify the massage, if needed. Most of the massage techniques used during your treatment are traditionally performed with the client unclothed. However, you may decide which is most comfortable for you.
The therapist is not present while you undress. Remember to pull long hair back and remove any jewelry. Carefully relax onto the table and cover yourself with the sheets provided. The therapist will briefly discuss the desired outcome of your treatment. This will determine which parts of your body require massage. As for one hour, or fully body the session will work on your back, head, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, and feet.
During your massage session there is one thing you should do...Relax. The therapist will tell you what is needed throughout the session. You may want to give any feedback as to how your feeling, such as how much pressure to apply -light or deep etc. If you communicate immediately, another approach can be taken to suit your level of comfort.
Many people feel relaxed and rejuvenated after their treatment. Some even experience freedom of long term aches and pains. This is then followed by an increased energy, heightened awareness and greater productivity; which can last for days.
It's recommended that you drink plenty of water following your treatment; due to the amount of toxins released from your soft tissues during the massage. If any soreness is present you may want to ice or heat the affected area.
After you've had your first massage with us, it's best to ask your therapist what they recommend to get the results you need. In general, massage is recommended weekly, bi-weekly or monthly.
The length of your session depends on what you'd like to come in for. The full body massage usually lasts one hour. A half hour session is enough time for a partial massage; which could be the neck, shoulders and back or back, legs and feet. Consult your therapist as to which options you're considering.
